News-Jiangsu Minglei Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd

Our country has achieved ten-thousand-ton-level independent manufacturing of high-performance fibers, breaking foreign monopoly.

Recently, the ten-thousand-ton new solvent-based cellulose fiber key technology and industrialization project broke the long-standing monopoly of international companies, achieving a major breakthrough and winning the first prize for scientific and technological progress at the 2016 China National Textile and Apparel Council 'Textile Light' awards. New solvent-based cellulose fiber (Lyocell) is a green and environmentally friendly regenerated cellulose fiber, with broad application prospects in fields such as apparel, home textiles, and industrial textiles.

Chemical stability of polyester

① Acid resistance. Polyester is very stable against acids (especially organic acids); immersing it in a 5% hydrochloric acid solution at 100°C for 24 hours, or in a 70% sulfuric acid solution at 40°C for 72 hours, results in no loss of strength. However, it cannot withstand the prolonged action of concentrated nitric acid or concentrated sulfuric acid at room temperature.

Product features of polyester fabric

Polyester fabric has high strength and elastic recovery capabilities, making it durable, practical, wrinkle-resistant, and iron-free. Polyester fabric has poor moisture absorption, leading to a stuffy feeling when worn in summer, and it easily accumulates static electricity in winter, affecting comfort. However, it dries very quickly after washing, its wet strength hardly decreases, it doesn't deform, and it has good wash-and-wear properties.

What is yarn twist?

Twisting is one of the purposes of spinning, and the amount of twist is an important indicator for measuring yarn performance, generally expressed by twist. Twist refers to the number of twists (i.e., helical turns) per unit length of yarn. The unit length varies depending on the type of yarn, and its unit of measurement can be expressed as "twists/10cm" or "twists/m". The former is used for cotton and cotton-type chemical fiber yarns, while the latter is used for worsted wool yarns and chemical fiber filament yarns for twist measurement. Twist affects indicators such as yarn strength, stiffness, flexibility, elasticity, and shrinkage.

Uses of Polyester

Polyester fiber has high strength, high modulus, and low water absorption, making it widely applicable as civil and industrial fabrics. As a textile material, polyester staple fiber can be spun purely and is also particularly suitable for blending with other fibers; it can be blended with natural fibers such as cotton, linen, and wool, and also with other chemical staple fibers such as viscose fiber, acetate fiber, and polyacrylonitrile fiber.

How is polyester modified?

Compared to natural fibers, polyester has disadvantages such as low moisture content, poor breathability, poor dyeability, susceptibility to pilling and fuzzing, and easy soiling. To improve these shortcomings, methods of chemical modification and physical deformation are adopted. Chemical modification methods include:

Main processes of spandex covered yarn

During the spinning process, the pre-drafting multiple of spandex (Spandex Stretch) is an important process parameter, which affects the elasticity of covered yarn (Covered Yarn) and fabric, as well as the strength, elongation, evenness, and creep performance of the covered yarn. If the pre-drafting multiple of spandex is too small, it cannot fully utilize the advantages of elastic fabric's good elasticity. If the drafting is too high, spinning becomes difficult and can easily cause yarn breakage, leading to a decline in product quality. Additionally, the percentage content of spandex yarn also affects the elasticity of the covered yarn; a higher content results in better elasticity. Under certain spandex yarn specifications, increasing the drafting multiple reduces the percentage content of spandex yarn, meaning that the pre-drafting multiple of spandex is inversely proportional to the percentage content of spandex in the finished yarn.
